How to get to Moray from Cusco, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo?
Moray is an important archaeological site known as a center for archaeological research. Located approximately 7 km north of Cusco, the Moray archaeological site is related to the nearby tourist site, the Maras Salt Mines, and is therefore often included in the same tour.

Before starting, we’ll clarify: if you plan to travel on your own, you should know that there is no direct public transportation to Moray. You’ll have to make stops at a certain point and then transfer to another vehicle.

How to get to Moray from Cusco?
Bus Terminal
You need to go to the “PAVITOS” TERMINAL, on the street of the same name. At this terminal, you will find buses and sprinters bound for Urubamba (remember to confirm your route). This route must be via Chinchero. The cost is $3 USD.
Trip from Cusco to Maras Detour
We will have a trip lasting approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. We will arrive at the “Drop-off” entrance, “Drop-off to Maras.” You can ask the conductor or locals to reconfirm your arrival (they will be happy to help you).
Maras – Moray Section
We will take a taxi from the drop-off point to the town of Moray. You can choose to walk to the town of Maras (approximately 4 km) and hire a taxi.
Moray, the trip from Maras to Moray by taxi can take 15 minutes a distance of approximately 9 km and you will be able to enjoy this important archaeological site.
How to get to Moray from Urubamba?
Bus Terminal
You need to go to the TERMINAL TERRESTRE D EURUBAMBA, located one block from the Mate Pumacahua Artisan Market. We will board buses to Cusco via “Chinchero.”
Urubamba–Maras Detour
We will have approximately 30 minutes to arrive at the “Drop-off” entrance, “DESVIO A MARAS.” You can ask the conductor or locals to reconfirm your arrival (they will be happy to help you).
Maras – Moray Section
We will take a taxi from the drop-off point to the town of Moray. You can choose to walk to the town of Maras (approximately 4 km) and hire a taxi.

Here’s how to get to Moray from Ollantaytambo.
Ollantaytambo – Urubamba section:
This transportation option is available by van or Sprinter (remember to go to Urubamba first, so confirm your route). The trip takes approximately 15 minutes. The bus stop is next to the “Mercado de San Pedro” (San Pedro Market). The cost is approximately $1 USD.

PRACTICAL OPTIONS
It can be very complicated to travel by public transportation or buses. Here are the PRACTICAL OPTIONS:
OPTION 1: Hire a private taxi. You’ll be sure to reach your destination without getting lost and in the time you need. The cost may vary depending on whether you hire one from Cusco, Urubamba, or Ollantaytambo.
OPTION 2: With a travel agency, you can visit Moray in different ways. You can book the experience with more people, and you can vary it according to availability. Here are some options:
