With a length of 28 meters and a width of 1.20 meters, the Qeswachaka was part of the Qhapaq \u00d1an or Inca Trail network. Over the years, this Inca bridge has remained intact thanks to the efforts of local villagers, who gather annually during the second week of June to reweave it and preserve the tradition. Using ichu, a grass from the Andean highlands, the women do the weaving while the men replace the damaged ropes.<\/p>\n

This tour to the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge, located in the province of Canas, just three hours from Cusco, offers a classic experience for nature lovers.     Qeswachaka Inca Bridge<\/h3>\n

    Day 1<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    <\/i> <\/span>The tour to the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge starts with the pick up from your hotel from 4:30 – 5:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

    <\/i><\/span> Continuing almost two hours drive south of Cusco, we will visit the four lagoons and then visit the small volcano of Pabellones which is located near the town of Yanaoca.<\/p>\n

    <\/i> <\/span>Then we will arrive at the impressive Inca bridge, made of vegetable fiber (Ichu). It is located over the Apurimac River in the district of Quehue. The existence of this bridge dates back to Inca times.<\/p>\n

    <\/i><\/span> The renovation and maintenance is done once a year by the local people of the four surrounding communities. But before starting with the renovation of the bridge an offering is given as a sign of respect and gratitude to the Pachamama.<\/p>\n

    <\/i> <\/span>We will have the opportunity to cross the Inca bridge from both sides. For this we must be careful, it seems easy, but it takes courage.<\/p>\n

    <\/i> <\/span>On the way back to Cusco we will make a last visit to the colonial Inca bridge of Checacupe where you can see the differences between the two bridges.<\/p>\n

    <\/i><\/span> To finish this interesting trip we will board the bus that will take us back to Cusco at approximately 5 pm.<\/p>\n

    Water is provided at meals. However, you should also carry an extra water bottle to avoid dehydration.<\/p>\n

    It is located at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level.<\/p>\n

    6.- About health and safety?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    The participants must inform us before and during the tour about any illness or injury. Although our guides carry first aid kits, it is recommended that you bring your own personal medication. We also suggest that you consult your doctor before booking this tour.<\/p>\n

    7.- Where to store your belongings?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Any belongings (suitcases and backpacks) that you do not wish to take with you during the tour can be safely left at your accommodation, as they have a luggage storage service. However, if you do not feel comfortable leaving your things there, you can also bring them to our office to store them during the tour.<\/p>\n

    8.- Best dates to go to the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    The best time to visit is generally in dry season, but we must know that the city of Cusco has 2 types of weather:<\/p>\n

    We will leave from the city of Cusco, the trip that we will make has a duration of 3 hours approximately.<\/p>\n
