We&#8217;ll begin our journey, and upon arriving in Desaguadero, we&#8217;ll have to go through immigration, as this is the Peru-Bolivia border.<\/p>\n<p>Next, we&#8217;ll take a bus to La Paz from Desaguadero (T.Boliviano). Costs may vary, but the fare is 20 Bolivianos (3.00 USD).<\/p>\n<p>We purchased our next bus ticket at the La Paz bus terminal on Av. Per\u00fa. CHULLOS TRAVEL recommends traveling at night to arrive at your destination very early in the morning and make the most of your time.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Distance\u00a0 PAZ-UYUNI bus.<\/p>\n<p>These buses depart at night, and we can find different schedules, ranging from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This means that night trips are our only option when it comes to bus travel.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s important to emphasize that you must purchase a \u00abterminal pass\u00bb before boarding the bus, which costs Bs 2.5 per person.<\/p>\n<p>There are two routes, and travel times last approximately nine to twelve hours.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of these bus tickets varies according to the comfort of the bus and prices range from 65 to 197 Bolivianos. If we depart at 9:00 PM, we arrive very early in the morning at 7:00 AM.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended to take the necessary precautions since the altitude is much higher and the cold is scorching, but this is only the beginning of this journey. Let&#8217;s have a coca tea to acclimatize and continue with the adventure.<\/p>\n<h4>PLANE TRAVEL:<\/h4>\n<p>If you decide to use this method to get to Uyuni from Lima, there are two flights departing from Lima to La Paz. The flights depart from Sunday to Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Latam 2401 schedule: 4:25 PM &#8211; 5:30 PM<\/p>\n<p>Avianca 7321 schedule: 7:56 PM &#8211; 9:05 PM<\/p>\n<p>Upon arriving in La Paz, we take a night bus, as in the previous revised route. The trip takes approximately 9 hours (LA PAZ-UYUNI bus).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>THINGS WE CAN SEE \/\/ DO IN THE SALAR DE UYUNI:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Visit the train cemetery.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ll see salt hotels, salt houses, and a sea of \u200b\u200bsalt all around us.<\/p>\n<p>The flags and the Dakar Rally monument.<br \/>\nReflections of the sunset on the salt flats.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perspective games<\/li>\n<li>Starry nights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>How much do tickets cost and what are the additional costs on a UYUNI tour?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You must bring extra cash for expenses not included in the excursion:<br \/>\nEntrance to the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve: 150 bolivianos<br \/>\nAccess to the hot springs: 6 bolivianos<br \/>\nHot showers at the accommodations: 10\u201315 bolivianos depending on the location<br \/>\nEntrance to Incahuasi Island: 30 bolivianos<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Best time to visit the Uyuni salt flats<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you want to see the dry salt flat, late spring is a good time.
