Este distrito es un sitio tur\u00edstico que\u00a0 se encuentra a 3499 msnm, siendo muy conocido por su esp\u00edritu religioso y por su incre\u00edble producci\u00f3n de artesan\u00edas que podr\u00e1s encontrar en el mercado del pueblo.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Origen del Nombre<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u00a1Basta por hoy!, frase que dio origen al distrito de Poroy; esto cuando los espa\u00f1oles Francisco y Gonzalo Pizarro llegaban al Cusco, designaron este lugar como descanso, igualmente Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar antes de arribar a la ciudad imperial, eligi\u00f3 este lugar como sitio de descanso \u00a1Basta por hoy!<br \/>\nAntiguamente era conocida como Poroypuquio,mencionado por el cronista Bernab\u00e9 Cobo como una de las principales huacas o adoratorios que se encontraba en el Chinchaysuyo.<br \/>\nAncestralmente se llamaba Puruy y legendariamente estaba relacionado a los Pururaucas.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Clima y temperatura<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Presenta un clima c\u00e1lido y h\u00famedo. La temperatura promedio anual m\u00e1xima es de 22\u00b0C y la m\u00ednima de 8\u00b0C.
