The tour Palcoyo Mountain, is a new adventurous trekking route similar to the classic Mountain of Colors (Vinicunca). It is located in the Cordillera de Vilcanota, in the district of Cusipata, province of Canchis, department of Cusco. It is conformed by 3 mountains that have colors of green, red, blue, blue, white and yellow tonality. It has an altitude of 4,900 meters above sea level. The climate is cold because it is located near the snowy Ausangate, the temperature in the place tends to drop to 0 ° C. This adventurous tour is a good option for people who like nature and trekking.
To make this excursion we start the trip from the city of Cusco towards the town of Cusipata for about 2 hours approximately, upon arrival we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Continuing with our trip for an hour we will arrive to the community of Palccoyo, from where we will begin the hike to the Palcoyo Mountain for about an hour, optionally we can know the impressive forest of stones that is in the place and climb to the highest part to have an impressive view of the landscape and the mountains that surrounds it.
Afterwards, we will return by the same route to Cusipata, where we will enjoy lunch. Finally, we will return to Cusco city arriving at 18:30 hrs approximately.
Palcoyo Mountain Tour does not require much physical condition, you can do it easily, so it is a less demanding circuit. Day 1
First, we will be passing by your accommodation where you are staying, preferably within the historic center of the city of Cusco, the pick up starts at 4:00 am approximately.
Then we will head south of Cusco, to the town of Cusipata where we will have our first stop for breakfast.
Before arriving to the town of Palccoyo we will make a stop to take some pictures of the attractive colonial bridge and the Inca bridge.
Arriving at Palccoyo Mountain (4,900 m.a.s.l.), we will have free time to take pictures and enjoy the place. We will also be able to observe part of the Nevado Ausangate.
Finally we will return to the parking lot to return to Cusipata, where we will have lunch and return to the city of Cusco (arrival at approximately 18:00 hrs), our mobility will leave you one block from the Plaza de Armas (Plaza Regocijo).
