Arequipa – Colca Canyon & Sillar Route Tour

Day 1

The tour begins with the reception upon arrival and transfer to your selected hotel in Arequipa.

Then at approximately 2 pm you will start the tour in the panoramic bus.

The first stop will be in the district of Yanahuara, where you can observe the portals that have various engravings and its folkloric church

Then you will go to the viewpoint of Carmen Alto in Cayma, to appreciate the system of terraces of the place.

 Afterwards you will go to a mini zoo called Incalpaca, where you can see 4 different South American camelids, also visit the mansion mansion of the founder where there are important relics of its history.
 Finally, a stop will be made at Molino de Sabandia where you can enjoy recreational activities such as horseback riding and ATV rides.
At the end of the Tour – Arequipa – Colca & Sillar Route, you will be brought back to the city and dropped off near the historic center.
 Overnight in the city.

Day 2

The tour starts at approximately 02:30 to 03:15 am, with the pick up of the passengers from their hotels, which should be located in the center of the city.
 Then you will travel for 3 hours until you reach the town of Chivay, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then go to the viewpoint of the cross of the condor in which is in the Colca Canyon about 30 minutes from Chivay, where we will stay for about 45 minutes, waiting for the majestic condor takes flight over the canyon or near us if it is feasible.

On the way back to the city we will make a stop to observe the magnificent system of the andeneria of the valley, likewise we will visit the Maca village where you can taste local drinks such as the Colca Sour that is prepared with local products.

Before lunch you will enter the thermal baths, whose waters are thermo-medicinal, then around 12:30 pm lunch in the district of Chivay.

After lunch we will return to Arequipa and during the trip we will make two stops, the first will be at the viewpoint of the volcanoes and the second in the wetlands of Toccra, where you can see a large number of alpacas, also have the opportunity to appreciate the snowy Chacani, the national reserve of salt and aguada blancan just passing by.

Day 3

Around 8:30 to 9:00 am on the third day we will start the tour of the Sillar route with the pick up of the passengers from their hotels (located in the center of the city).

Then we will go to our first stop which is the quarry of Añashuayco located approximately 45 minutes from the city. Place where you will be able to observe an immense canyon with cliffs, formed by the extraction of the same for the elaboration of the ashlars, also presenting several meters of height.

 In this space the passenger will be told a little bit of history about the ashlar, the elaboration and the use given to it, since many years ago. You can also appreciate a mega carving of the church of the Compañia de Jesus, work of the stonemasons themselves, which is a reason to visit some of them and learn about their daily work with physical demonstrations in the same place.

Later we will leave until the Culebrillas ravine located approximately 30 minutes from Añashuayco and being already there we will cross a road inside the canyon formed by the passage of the water during 20 minutes approximately. At the beginning of the walk the height of the canyons will be small, but as we go advancing the height of the canyon will be increasing.

At the end of the trail you will see petroglyphs of the Wari culture of many years ago, as well as the apachetas that are formations of superimposed stones that symbolize gratitude to nature and attraction of good energies.

 Around 11:30 a.m. we will start the return trip to the city, arriving approximately at 12:30 p.m. to the center of Arequipa.

At the end of the package, passengers will be transferred from their hotel to the airport at the indicated time.
