Cusco – Andes – Cloud Forest
Day 1
Leaving Cusco in the morning in one of our vehicles, we will see interesting valleys and picturesque peasant communities.
We will visit Paucartambo, which has a predominantly colonial architecture, and its interesting museum.
Short stop in Acjanacco which is the step on the way to penetrate into the Manu Park, where we will be able to appreciate the whole jungle.
In Acjanacco we will have lunch
We continue to the Cloud Forest, an area very rich in endemic species such as the Spectacled Bear and Cock of the Rock, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc..
We will arrive at our Lodge Orquídeas de San Pedro where we will spend the night.

Cloud Forest – Erika Lodge
Day 2
Early in the morning we will leave in search of the Cock of the Rock, Peru’s national bird that has a very unique courtship dance.
After breakfast we will continue to the small village of Pilcopata which is the entry point to Manu National Park.
Then we will go to Puerto de Atalaya, where we will board a motor boat where we will see the transition between the high and low jungle.
We will arrive at our lodge where we will have breakfast.
We will visit the Machuhuasi Lake which is a water mirror of almost one hectare, with an average depth of 1, 5 meters. We will be able to paddle in a catamaran to observe an enormous diversity of bird species.
In the afternoon, if time permits, we will hike along another trail where we will visit the Ceiba tree, one of the largest and oldest species that exist on the planet.
We will have the opportunity to take a night walk to observe insects and amphibians.

Erika Lodge – Reserved Zone/Lake Salvador
Day 3
Early in the morning, we will board the boat and head to the macaw clay lick, which is a wall along the river bank where different birds flock to eat nutrient-rich clay that helps them digest and eliminate toxins from their bodies.
After this activity we will have breakfast en route and head downriver to the Reserved Zone, where we will be able to observe birds such as skimmers, herons, etc.
We will continue along the Manu River for approximately 4 hours to Salvador Lake, which is the largest lake in Manu, with a length of 3.5 km, about 2 miles.
We will spend the night at our campsite where it is common to observe a great variety of bird species, also capybaras, river turtles, monkeys and hopefully some felines that usually sunbathe on the beaches.
In the afternoon we will dedicate our time to walk in search of wildlife in this forest.

Zona Reservada/Lake Salvador
Day 4
We will hike to look for animals in search of food since the temperature in the mornings is very hot.
We will have breakfast after this adventure.
We will explore the Salvador Lake by catamaran and try to see the giant otter, an endangered species, we will also look for the Black Caiman, the hoatzin, etc.
We will visit the Otorongo Lake and the observation tower that is 15 meters high, which will allow us to fully observe the forest landscape.
We will take a short night walk to try to find American Bullfrogs, Horned Frogs, Tree Frogs and a large number of colorful insects.

Reserved Zone/Lake Salvador – Hummingbird Lodge
Day 5
We will wake up early again for a walk around our camp and Salvador Lake.
After breakfast we will pack up
We will board our boat and navigate down the Manu River, where we will be able to observe peccaries (native pigs), caimans, turtles and birds.
In the afternoon we will arrive at the Hummingbird Lodge and settle in for the night.
We will have the possibility to take a short night walk.

Hummingbird Lodge – Shintuya Hot Springs
Day 6
After a delicious breakfast we will leave the Hummingbird Lodge.
We will head to Shintuya Hot Springs, where we will enjoy beautiful views and relaxing natural hot springs.

Shintuya Hot Springs – Erika Lodge
Day 7
We will have breakfast and get ready to leave.
We will board the boat and go down the Alto Madre de Dios River, against the current, contemplating the beautiful scenery.
We will arrive before noon at our lodge, where we will spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying nature.
In the evening we will have the option of a short night walk.
Overnight at the lodge.

Erika Lodge – Cusco
Day 8
After a good and delicious breakfast, we will pack and board our boat to go to the port of Atalaya where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back,
On the way back to Cusco we will make a brief stop at the Mirador Pico de Hoz – Hummingbird Garden (750 m.a.s.l.), an environmental conservation center (optional).
We will arrive in Cusco city around 6:00 pm.
