On the Apurímac river in the southern area of Cusco, the last Inca bridge in the world, known as the Qeswachaka bridge, is an authentic heritage recognized by UNESCO, due it’s knowledge on redoing each year this bridge.

Imagine yourself crossing this incredible Inca Bridge. If you are travelling in June, high chances to see the locals demolish and set up a new one.

Itinerary

Qeswachaka Bridge Full Day

Day 1:

At 4:30 a.m. approx, we will pick you up at your reception hotel near the City Centre and accessible streets.

Then we drive to the southeast for over 2 hours until Cusipata to enjoy our breakfast.

We will see on the way different beautiful lagoons surrounded by beautiful sceneries proper of the Andes.

Continuing our excursion, we will go towards Qehue community, where is located the last Inca Bridge or Qeswachaka, where every year locals still rebuild the bridge made with Andean straws (Ichu)

Your guide will explain the history of the place, if you want you can Cross the Bridge, exiting while impresive. You definitely won’t regret.

After exploring, we go back to where our chef will be waiting for our delicious lunch.

Finally, we will make it to Cusco around 6:00 pm.

It is located about 4 hours south of Cusco by car, in the Apurimac Canyon.

2.- Should I bring extra water?

Water is provided at meals. However, you should also carry an extra water bottle to avoid dehydration.

We recommend at least 2 days of acclimatization before the tour.

The best time to visit is in dry season, to clarify the city of Cusco has 2 types of weather:

  • First: Rainy season that oscillates between the months of December to March.
  • Second: Dry season that oscillates between the months of April to November.
