Summary
The Salkantay Adventure Trek 5 Days 4 Nights is a 51 km long trek with a day hike of 6-7 hours. It is a trail oriented to travelers who like challenges and witness the diverse microclimates, discover the mysteries of the Andean world and landscapes that the trail has to offer in a single trip to Machu Picchu.
This tour invites you to discover and enjoy in these 5 days the variety of climates, going from a very cold and icy climate passing through the Salkantay mountain (4,600) meters above sea level to a semi-tropical climate and to be able to see on the last day one of the wonders of the new world Machu Picchu.

Itinerary
Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa
Day 1
First we will start with the pick up from the hotel in Cusco 5: 00 am and transfer in tourist mobility to the village of Mollepata where we will have a stop to have breakfast and introduce all our team who will accompany us throughout the trek, then we will move to Marqoq’asa where we will start the hike to the viewpoint where we can see 02 valleys (Mollepata valley, Marqoq’asa) then continue the walk to Soraypampa where we will have a deserved lunch and then ascend for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the Humantay lagoon located 4220 m. After appreciating this beautiful place we will descend to Soraypampa.

Campamento de Suyroccocha a Challway (Chaullay)
Day 2
The second day you will have more hiking trail than on foot. While you work a little harder to reach the summit, the views at the top are even more amazing than we can see. Then it’s a pure downhill trail with full rocks, descending into a more reachable rainforest area at the far end of Salkantay Mountain.
Today, after a delicious wake, a glass of hot Coca tea is served in their tents to ease the cold morning. We prepare all our gear to begin this beautiful day of hiking to the Salkantay pass and experience the cloud forest and subtropical jungle day.

Challway: al campamento de La Playa
Day 3
It is a beautiful mountain scenery in the morning, today is a green nature trail and reach up to La Playa; with some river that are tributaries of the main river of the Sacred Valley of the Incas “Urubamba River” and most of the time we will be near the white river of Salcantay finding in our hike a lot of wild strawberries “both sides of the trail, of course if it is the season “, abound flowers, wildflowers, orchids, some birds, fruit passions, avocados, coffee trees, bananas, pineapples, etc.. The hike will last approximately 5 hours; the camp is in the settlement of La Playa.

Paso de Llactapata – al pueblo de Aguas Calientes
Day 4
We leave La Playa early in the morning to avoid the humid beating of the sun, to do some trekking towards our last pass of the whole trip. Today we follow the original Inca trail from Lucmabamba to Llactapata Pass, crossing the Santa Teresa Valley with a wider variety of landscapes (green nature and a quiet Inca trail). Arriving at the Patallacta ruins, we have the first view of Machu Picchu and all the Andes mountains in the area which are incredible sights. We also explore the Llactapata Inca site.
We then descend through lush bamboo and coffee forests (Acobamba Valley) along a trail back to Hidro (two hours of extreme descent to the riverbank). From the Aobamba River, the road to Hydro is an easy walk to the village of Aguas Calientes “the last two and a half hours we follow the train track”.

Machu Picchu
Day 5
Breakfast and early transfer to go by tourist bus to Machu Picchu, the trip takes about 30 minutes. During the trip we will have an incredible view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, and the Amazon jungle that gives you a small hint of how much Peru has to offer. Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas” you will have a nice guided tour to visit the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Mark “Intiwatana”, the Royal Quarter, the Temple of the Three Windows and several cemeteries, then at the appropriate time, you will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train that will take you back to the village of Ollantaytambo and then we will take the mobility to Cusco City. Reception at the train station and transfer to your accommodation.
