The Ausangate trek of 5 days 4 nights, in the Cordillera del Vilcanota is a route called «Camino al Apu Ausangate», this adventure will allow you to travel through the Peruvian Andes and discover landscapes, mountains, lakes of all colors. This adventure will allow you to be in contact with South American camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas), during the whole journey of the snowy Ausangate.

  • Day 1: Cusco – Tinki – Upis.

Cusco -Tinki -Upis

Day 1

To start with the tour to the snowy Ausangate Trek 5 Days 4 Nights, we start with the pick up from the hotel, once located in our mobility we will leave the city of Cusco to the town of Tinki by the route of the southern valley, arriving at the village we will pass through several districts, we will appreciate several chapels and lagoons after 3 hours of travel we will arrive at the town of Tinki located at 3700 meters above sea level.
After lunch; We will begin with the walk to the Ausangate Trek through a dry climate, with little vegetation (ecological floor puna) after approx. 3 hours of walking we will stop for lunch, and to appreciate part of the majestic Nevado Ausangate (6337 meters above sea level) after lunch we will continue walking for about 2 hours more until arriving at our camp Upis (4200 meters above sea level).

Day 2

After breakfast we will continue the hike ascending for approximately 4 hours to reach the Arapa pass (4850 masl) and then descend to find the appropriate place for lunch, we will walk along trails where we can observe wild animals, in this area you will find 3 beautiful lakes, the three of different shades these are: Yanacocha, HatunPukacocha and Qomerqocha.
After lunch we will continue along the route surrounded by snow-capped peaks, we will ascend to the second pass the Apuchata pass (4900 masl) walking approximately 2 hours, after reaching the summit we will descend for about half an hour to the campsite. Ausangatecocha (4440 masl).

Ausangate Lake – Palomani Pass – Q’ampa

Day 3
  • This day we will start the hike earlier to ascend for approximately 2 hours to the third pass, the Palomani pass (5200 masl) this is the highest point of the whole route. m) this is the highest point of the whole route, then we will descend another 2 hours, seeing American camelids such as llamas, alpacas and wild animals like Vizcacha, and also mountains and glaciers and we will arrive to Pampa cancha where we will have lunch (4050 masl).

Q’ampa – Pacchanta

Day 4

After breakfast we will walk for approx. 2 hours until we reach the Q’ampa pass (5000 masl), then we will descend for approx. 5 hours until we reach the Qomercocha lagoon and then arrive to Pacchanta (4100 masl), this is a small community with attractive hot springs, where we will enjoy the day.

Pacchanta – Conexión – Cusco

Day 5

In the morning we will leave Pacchanta and start the return to Tinki, we will walk for approximately 2 hours, once in Tinki, we will take the transport that will take us to Cusco, arriving to Cusco in the afternoon.
