CCONOC THERMAL BATHS

The Cconoc thermal baths are surrounded by lush vegetation, including carob trees, reeds, and cacti. Visitors say that the water in these thermal baths cures various ailments such as arthritis, nervous tension, muscle pain, and rheumatism, as well as regulating menstruation and other conditions.

LOCATION

It is located in the district of Curahuasi, province of Abancay, which is 95 km east of the city of Abancay, approximately 2.5 hours by bus. It is 120 km from the imperial city of Cusco.

The Cconoc hot springs are located at the foot of the Apurímac River at an altitude of 1780 meters above sea level.

ACCESS ROUTES:
From Cusco:
To get there from the city of Cusco on your own, it is best to hire a private car, as there is no return transportation available unless you go to the district of Curahuasi after enjoying the hot springs and take a bus back to Cusco from there.

From Abancay:
The road route is shorter from Abancay to the Cconoc hot springs, with a distance of 88 km and an approximate travel time of 2 hours and 54 minutes.

CLIMATE
The temperature ranges between 26º C and 35º C.

ORIGIN OF THE NAME

The name Cconoc probably comes from the Quechua word “coñac,” which means “hot.”
