Clothing & Gear

  • Dress in layers: Temperatures in the Sacred Valley can vary greatly between morning and afternoon. Wear a light base layer, a warm fleece or sweater, and a windproof jacket.
  • Comfortable walking shoes: Use trekking shoes or sneakers with good grip, as paths may be uneven or dusty.
  • Hat and sunglasses: To protect yourself from the high-altitude sun.
  • Scarf or buff: Useful for wind, sun, or even spiritual ceremonies.
  • Small daypack: Carry your personal items, water, and any extras comfortably.

Personal Essentials

  • Sunscreen with high SPF: The sun at altitude is intense—even on cloudy days.
  • Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated; at least 1 liter per person is recommended. Refill stations may be available.
  • Lip balm and moisturizer: The Andean air is dry, which can affect your skin.
  • Biodegradable wipes or tissues: Especially useful during the clay therapy session.
  • Personal medications: Especially for altitude sickness (consult your doctor about “soroche” remedies before arrival).

Spiritual & Mental Preparation

  • Come with an open mind and heart: This is a deeply spiritual and emotional experience designed for healing and reconnection.
  • Avoid alcohol the night before: It may interfere with your energy and sensitivity during the rituals.
  • Digital detox: Try to minimize phone usage during the ceremony and walk. Allow yourself to be fully present.
  • Respect local customs and beliefs: Communities in the Sacred Valley follow ancient traditions. Show kindness, patience, and gratitude.

Community Support & Interaction

  • Bring cash in Peruvian soles: If you’d like to buy handmade alpaca textiles or tip the community members, small bills are ideal.
  • Ask before taking photos of locals or rituals, especially during sacred moments.
  • Participate actively: Your respectful involvement enhances the experience for both you and the community.

Extra Tips for Your Wellness Tour

  • Acclimate at least 1 day in Cusco before this tour to avoid altitude discomfort.
  • Eat a light breakfast before pickup; the clay and herbal activities are best on a balanced stomach.
  • Bring extra snacks if needed, especially if you have specific dietary needs.
  • Check the weather forecast, but be prepared for quick changes in climate typical of the Andes.

Cogedlos, aunque estéis acostumbrados a no usarlos.

Great Experience It was a great experience! It was really cool to see the mountain half in its original colour, the other half in snow; the contrast made it quite special. Kudos to our guide who went up to the mountain with us. It was definitely no easy task!

Caring guide Tito was very patient and caring. He did guide us well through the different ways and always looked out for the last ones (myself included). The altitude was affecting me badly and he supported me through the whole way. I highly recommend Tito as a guide for the Rainbow mountain day trip! Gracias Muchacho!

Rainbow Mountains + Red Valley is a must go! The walk to the Rainbow Mountain was a bit touch but it was worthy!!! Tito was a great tour guide who looked after all of us and explained about the area. Tito suggested to go to one of the walks around the Red Valley and it was stunniiiing!!! One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in my life. Highly recommend to go to the Red Valley and, if you want to push yourself even further, go to the top of the mountain. It’s amazing

Recomendo o passeio!
