Day 1:


We will pick you up from your hotel or from the bus terminal in the town of Uyuni. To go to our first point of visit.

We start with a visit to the Cemetery of Trains dating from the nineteenth century, here you can see the remains of the old locomotives that is located a few kilometers from the town of Uyuni, it is said to be the largest railway cemetery in the world.


Continuing with our tour we will arrive to Colchani, a small town known for the elaboration of salt based products, here you can buy all kinds of handicrafts.


Later we will visit the wonderful Salar de Uyuni which has more than 10,000 km., here we can see small piles of salt in the form of pyramids, in the same way we can see the eyes of salt where salt water circulates and the Salt Museum where you can see that all the architecture and objects on display is made of salt.


Then we will arrive at the point of entry of the Incahuasi Island, in this place we will enjoy a view of the natural wonder and in addition to this we will see abundant presence of cactus, here we will have a tour of 30 min. Then we go to our next adventure, the monument of Dakar where we can get beautiful pictures.

Here we will enjoy a delicious local lunch.


After enjoying lunch we will continue with the expedition to the majestic Salar de Uyuni in the afternoon we will go to the water mirrors to appreciate the sunset reflecting the beautiful sky, a place where the earth and the sky have no limit.


Finally at the end of our first day’s tour we headed to our hostel for the night.

Day 2:


We start the day with our batteries recharged to continue discovering what the destination has in store for us, for which we start the tour with the pick up from the hostel at 9:30 a.m. approx. to start our adventure through the majestic Salar de Uyuni.


On our second day we will start visiting our first destination, the Pulacayo Mine which was the most important silver and tin mine in Bolivia in 1952; we will have a guided visit to the small museum. We will also visit the Colonial Church.

Continuing with our tour we will have the option to enjoy the hot springs and saunas.

On this route we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

At the end of our tour we will visit at least 3 lagoons such as: Cañapa, Hedionda and Chulluncani of different colors that are part of the Altiplanic Lagoons which are home to hundreds of flamingos, also these lagoons stand out for the color of its waters.

We will finish the tour in the town of Uyuni at approximately 18:00 hrs.

The bus trip from Sucre to Uyuni takes about 8 hours and its distance is approximately 361 Km.

2. What is the best season to visit the Salar de Uyuni?

The ideal season to visit the salt flat is during the months of May to April and October and part of December since the weather is not extreme and you have great landscapes with clear skies of the salt flat.

4. Is it mandatory to hire a tour and can I go on my own?

It is not mandatory but highly recommended. You must take into account that there are hardly any indications on the road and the Salar is the perfect place to get lost since there are hardly any visual references and it is 10,500 square kilometers long. The risks of getting stranded in the rainy season if you do not know the terrain are also very high. In any case you will need a 4×4 vehicle.
