Located near the city of Cusco, this valley stretches for more than 80 kilometers and is crossed by the Urubamba River. Its unique geography, surrounded by majestic mountains and fertile lands, made it a vital agricultural center during the Inca Empire. Thanks to its extraordinary landscapes and rich historical legacy, it remains one of the most visited places for travelers seeking an authentic cultural experience in the Peruvian Andes.

Throughout the Sacred Valley of Cusco, visitors can explore remarkable archaeological sites such as Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, and Yucay, where Inca terraces, temples, royal roads, and ceremonial structures are still preserved. Each destination holds invaluable historical significance and offers travelers the opportunity to connect with the ancient Inca civilization in a stunning natural setting. In addition, the valley continues to preserve its living traditions through artisan markets, local communities, and ancestral festivals.

The Sacred Valley can be reached from Cusco through two main routes: one via the town of Chinchero and the other through Pisac, both located approximately 30 to 34 km from the city. Its mild climate, impressive archaeological heritage, and direct connection to Machu Picchu make it an essential stop on any travel itinerary through southern Peru. Cogedlos, aunque estéis acostumbrados a no usarlos.

Great Experience It was a great experience! It was really cool to see the mountain half in its original colour, the other half in snow; the contrast made it quite special. Kudos to our guide who went up to the mountain with us. It was definitely no easy task!

He even paid the remainder of our horse ride payment when we were short on soles. He is highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience rainbow mountain tour.

Caring guide Tito was very patient and caring. He did guide us well through the different ways and always looked out for the last ones (myself included). The altitude was affecting me badly and he supported me through the whole way. I highly recommend Tito as a guide for the Rainbow mountain day trip! Gracias Muchacho!

Rainbow Mountains + Red Valley is a must go! The walk to the Rainbow Mountain was a bit touch but it was worthy!!! Tito was a great tour guide who looked after all of us and explained about the area. Tito suggested to go to one of the walks around the Red Valley and it was stunniiiing!!! One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in my life. Highly recommend to go to the Red Valley and, if you want to push yourself even further, go to the top of the mountain. It’s amazing

Recomendo o passeio!
