Before diving into the depths of the native communities, our travelers will enjoy a picturesque journey down the majestic Amazon River, where they will have the opportunity to admire the exuberant Amazonian flora and fauna of the region, as well as breathtaking landscapes.

Once we arrive at the native communities, our visitors will have the opportunity to interact and share with the local members, immersing themselves in their customs and traditions. From participating in native dances to listening to their captivating ancestral stories, every moment will be a window into the rich culture of these people. Itinerario

Native Communities Tour – Iquitos

Day 1

The tour starts from our departure point at the pier located on the boulevard of Iquitos, specifically on the first block of Napo Street, at the bottom of the boulevard. Departure is scheduled for 8:50 am, with a tolerance of 10 additional minutes.

This trip will start navigating the Itaya – Amazon and Nanay rivers.

We will visit the community of Bora (The native community of San Andres Boras, is made up of aboriginal families whose name means “ear without hole”, in this community you can participate in the local dance, see their crafts and an experience of food collection).

Our next stop will be the native community of the Kukama, an ethnic group that identifies itself as Kukama Kukamiria, where you can learn about their lifestyle and development, as true guardians of their natural habitat.

 Continuing with our journey, we will go to the Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm (you will see 42 species of butterflies such as the “Blue Morpho, Owl Butterfly”, also in the process of metamorphosis).

 Then we will return to the embarkation point, pier located on the boulevard of Iquitos.

2.- How long does it take you to get to the Kukama community?

From the city of Iquitos, go to the port of Bellavista where you will navigate in a “peque peque” about 25 minutes to Padre Cocha, when you arrive you will have to take a 20 minute walk to the native community of Kukama.
