The tours through the traditional picanterias of Cusco in Cusco are part of the gastronomic tradition of Cusco. The word picanteria comes from Picante, a characteristic of these establishments that emerged during the colonial era which was a fusion of the traditional food of the mestizos with the recipes brought by the Spaniards.
Over the years these establishments have become emblematic places in Cusco where visitors come in search of an authentic gastronomic experience of recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation resulting in a living culinary tradition.

Day 1
Pick up from the hotel
We will start this experience with the pick up from the hotels (near the historical center), then we will go to the San Pedro Market.
San Pedro Market
Our route will start by the most popular and oldest market in the city of Cusco, which will give you a complete sensory experience, also stands out as one of the most picturesque places in the city of Cusco, attracting numerous Cusco residents and foreign tourists in search of various food products and handicrafts.
La Chomba
Later we will go to one of the oldest picanterias in the city, “La Chomba”, this picanteria is known for its great seasoning, we will find dishes such as its famous fried ribs, pork rinds, fried trout, among others.
Here we will taste the delicious “frutillada” to which the place recommends adding the famous “Negrita” beer for a better culinary experience.
San Blas neighborhood
As a penultimate stop we will continue through the San Blas neighborhood and its colorful streets until we reach our last destination, “Mamá Trini” recognized by the Ministry of Culture, is a very popular picantería for its good seasoning and the experience it gives you, here we will taste its delicious dishes and its famous chicha (traditional drink of the city) and you can also observe the well known guinea pigs (guinea pig).

We will finish in the Plaza de Armas where we will say goodbye to our guide and we will end the tour of La Ruta de las Picanterias.
